5 Uses for Vinegar
5 Uses for Vinegar
- Most of you would know this can be used for cleaning most surfaces around the house, tiles, mirrors, bathrooms, kitchens etc. I like to use it with lemon & Bicarbonate of soda
- Makes a very effective - albeit slow - weedkiller. I would suggest you use a spray bottle if your vinegar bottle doesn't come with a slow release spout. What I like about this is as the unwanted plants decompose, the acidic PH of the vinegar will naturally feed the soil.
- Apple cider vinegar helps to smooth rough dry hair cuticles by restoring the hairs' PH balance.
- Wash and/or condition hair
- In a jug use a ratio of 1 part Apple cider Vinegar to 4 parts water (not any other vinegar!) pour this over the hair. Leave on hair for about 5 mins then rinse with cool or lukewarm water. You can leave it on hair without rinsing out too, there is no smell once the hair dries.
- A useful health aid in digestion & detox, again only Apple Cider Vinegar 1 to 2 tablespoons in a bottle of filtered water.
- If you have a lot of limescale build up in your kettle, you can use white vinegar to clean it.
- First boil the kettle a little less than half full, then add the vinegar and leave the solution for at least an hour.
- Empty kettle then boil with fresh water several times & discard - pour this down anything for an extra clean or germ kill, such as your sink, outside your front/back door etc. I pour it over weeds on my pavement
